MGRS Airspace does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no user accounts, no email addresses, no names, no device identifiers tied to you as an individual. Nothing.
You don't create an account to use the app, and we have no mechanism to identify you even if we wanted to. The app runs entirely on your device.
If you grant location permission, the app uses your GPS coordinates to show your position on the map. That's it. Your coordinates are never sent to any server, never logged, never stored beyond the current session.
Location permission is entirely optional. If you deny location access, the app defaults to Jacksonville, NC as the starting position. Every feature except live GPS tracking works without location permission.
There are no analytics libraries in this app. No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Crashlytics, no nothing. We don't track how you use the app, which screens you visit, how long you stay, or what you tap.
We don't have crash reports either. If the app crashes, we don't know about it unless you tell us directly.
If you purchase a subscription or lifetime access, that transaction is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status — it tells the app whether your subscription is active, nothing more.
RevenueCat receives a limited set of data necessary to process and validate purchases. We do not receive or store any payment information ourselves. For details on what RevenueCat handles, see their privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy .
Google Play's privacy practices are governed by Google's privacy policy, which applies to all purchases made through the Play Store.
Outside of purchase validation, there are no other third-party services, APIs, or SDKs in the app that receive any data about you. Map tiles for offline use are downloaded from standard map tile servers at your request — no user identity is associated with those requests.
We don't sell data. We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, government agencies (absent a legal requirement), or anyone else. This is not a policy we've written to technically comply with regulations — it's the actual reality of how the app is built.
We do not request permissions for contacts, microphone, camera, calendar, or any other sensitive data. Sharing coordinates uses only the native Android share sheet — no permission required.
MGRS Airspace is a tool for field operators — it's not designed for or directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is straightforwardly not an issue.
If we ever update this privacy policy in a way that matters — such as beginning to collect data we don't currently collect — we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's Play Store listing. We will not introduce data collection silently.
This policy is effective as of April 2026.
